The people behind a business are its heart.
This summer, our employees went above and beyond for an important cause and they shared the love and kindness that’s inside of them with the community.
We’d like to thank all of those involved with the fundraiser for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. (AFSP)
Our employees bussed tables at Pizza Ranch, donated their dog grooming skills, reached out to companies to collect donations for a silent auction, hand-delivered flyers, walked in and volunteered for the Out of the Darkness walk, and more. It was an effort that spanned months.
Our wonderful customers brought their pets for grooming on specific days to support the fundraiser. They donated hundreds of dollars at the registers. Many of our friends and family donated to employee’s individual fundraisers on social media.
This is a cause that means so much to so many. Many of us have been personally touched by suicide. Montana’s suicide rate is the highest in the nation with 29.8 suicides per 100,000 people. The loving veterinarians who care for our pets also have a higher risk of suicide. A recent CDC study shows that female vets are 3.5 times more likely to die from suicide and male vets are 2.1 times more likely.
It’s a daunting problem. The efforts made by our caring and hardworking staff to help fund the AFSP are appreciated so much more than we can say.
To every employee who worked tirelessly to make this happen, and to every customer who supported this cause, thank you.
